Our Weekend in the Woods

We had a wonderful weekend together. We started out on Friday afternoon and arrived at our cabin around 7pm. Both boys were ready to run around and we had tons of unpacking to do. Upon arriving, the cabin was so cute. It was just the right size to keep us together for two days. That evening we pretty muched just settled in and attempted to get the boys to bed in hopes of getting an early start on Saturday. Saturday morning we woke up with our normal "Isaac alarm," at 5:30 and were out the door by 7. We headed through Boonsboro and Antetiem. I loved the scenery and it was so relaxing to not be on a schedule. Dominic loved seeing all the cows and moo'd along the way. He drove through Shepardstown and onto Harper's Ferry. Ryan showed us his old house and some of his favorite spots. We arrived in Harper's Ferry around 9. Domninic loved the trains. I liked the historic looka and feel of the place. We hiked along the river and fed the geese. Had lunch at a cute little grille, and then hiked up the hill to Jefferson Rock. The boys didn't make it all the way, so Ryan let me continue on by myself. It was well worth the uphill trek. The veiw was awesome. By this time, everyone was ready for a nap so we made our way back to Boonsboro and had some ice cream. Found a playground and layed out a blanket to relax. We spent that evening roaming the land around the cabin and prepared our fire for the evening. Enjoyed some pizza and enjoyed watching Dominic roast he first ever marshmellows by the camp fire. The whole day was perfect. It was a much needed escape for all of us. I loved not having the distractions of phones, computers and household duties. We actually got to enjoy eachother, which has been difficult lately considering all the illness and running we have been dealing with at home. Thanks so much Kris for the reccommendation. It was a weekend of great memories for me to tuck away.

P.S. I would love to have someone explain to me how to create a photo slideshow with Picasa on here. Until then, this is the best I can do with my trip pics. See link below.
